Speaking of brilliance, meet Keem King, one of our existing Young Black Climate Leaders. Hailing from the East side of Detroit, Keem's efforts for sustainability led him to teach artistic sustainability classes and climate literacy... with notable recognition. Keem was one of two writers for the NOAA "Climate Literacy for All" curriculum, which was featured in the New York Times. As part of the program, Keem focused on hands-on learning and had students come up with climate disruption solutions on their own. Read more of Keem's story here.
In support of the growing network of young Black leaders like Keem, Climate Innovation's Young Black Climate Leaders project (YBCL) presents the YBCL Dream Lab for Black youth 18-25yrs to meet, build, and dream.
Youth will receive stipends of up to $100 for participation of both days. At the Dream Lab we will be announcing scholarships for $500-$1,500 that will be available for all participants to support their, leadership, education, personal projects, and/or community work.
